Brazil competes with other opportunities, sun is not only in Brazil, it is everywhere. If we do not create a more competitive, more favorable environment, the resource finds profitability elsewhere and that’s all we do not want at the moment.

Commitment and support for renewable energy is a characteristic of my generation, which is committed to low carbon
emission sources, so we are looking at an energy policy that can signal this very clearly.
— Fernando Coelho Filho, Mines and Energy Minister

The technical potential of solar photovoltaic energy in Brazil is immense and surprising. It is more than 28,500 GW in large-scale generation and more than 164 GW in residential roofs in the distributed generation, and these conservative estimates.
— Rodrigo Sauaia, ABSOLAR CEO
